Mr Umar graduated from the King Edward University in Pakistan in 1993. Mr Umar then moved to the UK where he completed his membership examinations at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London.
Mr Umar moved to Ireland in 1996, where he carried out his Specialist training in major hospitals throughout the Country ; including Mid Western Regional Maternity Hospital and Barringtons Hospital in Limerick. Mr Umar earned his Specialist title in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2010.
Mr Umar has been actively involved in teaching students from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and the University College Cork. Mr Umar has participated in numerous publications, research projects and presentations, as well as being a member of the European Urogynaecoologist Association and the British Society of Certified Colposcopists
Mr Umar’s professional interests include all urinary issues with a focus on the treatment of urinary incontinence, management of pelvic organ prolapse, MESH implantation, minimal invasive treatments of period problems, Laparoscopic surgery, Infertility investigations & treatment, and hormone replacement therapy.
