The Quality and Risk Department co-ordinates and supports all quality activities and initiatives in accordance with international and national best practice. There is a strong commitment to the delivery of quality patient care based on the values and mission of the hospital. Quality and patient safety is the cornerstone of the culture of Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee.
Each one of us has a responsibility to make healthcare safe. The Bon Secours Hospital Tralee has put many measures in place to keep you safe and prevent errors in your care, but we also need you to work with us to keep you safe.
We endeavour to provide the highest level of patient care available. Our consistent objective is the provision of the best achievable outcomes for patients using performance measurement, clinical audit and benchmarking against national and international standards.
The Bon Secours Hospital Tralee has been awarded accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), who are a recognised Gold Standard and the worldwide leader in improving quality in health care. This award underpins our commitment to monitoring the quality of patient care, ensuring a safe environment and continually working to reduce risks to patients and staff.
The accreditation process stimulates continuous, systematic improvements in an organisation’s performance and the outcomes of patient care by applying internationally agreed standards which are adapted to local needs and which are continuously monitored. We foster and develop collaborative working within the Hospital in achieving quality standards and continuous improvements.
The Quality and Risk Department has responsibility for the monitoring and management of patient feedback. Patient feedback is used to enhance and improve the quality of services we deliver. The hospital welcomes comments, compliments and complaints from all service users; the principle of using these is an opportunity to inform service provision and to continually improve the quality of care and service to all.
All complaints whether oral or written shall be taken seriously, handled appropriately and sensitively. If you feel your compliant is not satisfactorily resolved by the hospital you can subsequently appeal to the Group Director of Quality and Safety for the Bon Secours Group.
