Mark graduated with honours degrees in both dentistry and medicine and subsequently underwent 5-years of higher surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the South West of England. During his training he was exposed to the full remit of speciality including microvascular reconstruction of the head & neck region.
In his final year of training, he was appointed as a Trainee Interface Group (TIG) Fellow in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery on the London rotation via UK national recruitment and this provided him with high volume exposure to Orthognathic Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery with some of the UK’s most highly regarded surgeons in these fields. In 2018, the European Association of Cranio-maxillo-facial Surgeons awarded him the Hugo Obwegeser travelling scholarship, and this enabled him gain further experience in Maxillofacial Units in Germany.
Mark has published widely in the maxillofacial literature and was awarded a Master of Surgery degree by the Royal College of Surgeon in Ireland in 2014. He is involved with supervision and teaching of senior surgical trainees in OMFS and both undergraduate and postgraduate dental and medical students.
