Dr Jude Ryan, is a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician at Bon Secours Hospital LImerick at Barringtons and the Acute Medical Unit at University Hospitals Limerick. A native of Limerick and educated at Laurel Hill Colaiste, she graduated from NUIG in 1999. Jude trained in Geriatrics and General Internal Medicine with rotations at University Hospital Limerick, St. Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny, Cork University Hospital, St James’s Hospital and St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin with an overseas training year at Kings College Hospital, London. She was appointed Consultant Physician at University Hospital Galway 2012-2013.
Jude conducted award-winning research into immunomodulation of host responses to hospital acquired infection in older patients at the Department of Medicine; Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre, NUI, Cork 2004-2006. A member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland since 2006, she was awarded an MD by thesis in 2009 and Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training in 2012. She is a member of the Irish Gerontolological Society, the American Society of Bone; Mineral Research and the Irish Society of Acute Medicine. Jude has a lead geriatric role in the Irish National Hip Fracture Database Steering Group. She is a lecturer at UL Graduate Entry Medical School.

Her subspecialty interests include
