In 2024, Dr Muhammad Farman joined Bon Secours Hospital Galway, where he holds the position of Consultant Gastroenterologist. Dr Farman has a specialist interest in pancreatico-biliary medicine, with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of pancreatic, biliary, liver, and gallbladder disorders. His advanced skills in therapeutic endoscopy include EUS, which is instrumental in staging pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal cancers and managing pancreatic and biliary diseases, and ERCP, a technique used for diagnosing and treating bile duct and pancreatic conditions.
He is committed to expanding therapeutic endoscopy services and establishing diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) services for patients in the West of Ireland.
Dr Farman graduated in 2007 from Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad, Pakistan. He completed his higher specialist training in Gastroenterology at Beaumont Hospital, the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital, and Mercy University Hospital, Cork. Following this, he undertook a prestigious Fellowship in Hepatobiliary Medicine and Advanced Endoscopy at King’s College Hospital London, where he specialised in EUS and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
