On Saturday the 22nd of April the Bon Secours Hospital Galway hosted its biggest-ever General Practice Nurse Symposium with over 80 Practice Nurses attending from all over Ireland. The symposium focused on Women’s Health and Menopause and was opened by Lynn Guthrie, the new Chief Executive Officer, of Bon Secours Galway.
Clinical presentations were then given on various areas covering Menopause, Urodynamics, Bone health, Immunology and Allergy. Speakers included Dr Marina Curran, GP Specialist, Menopause Clinic, Galway University Hospital, Jane Heffernan CMN2, Bon Secours Hospital Galway, Dr Ronan Kavanagh, Medical Director DXA service, Bons Secours Hospital Galway, Elaine Raftery, Chartered Physiotherapist Bons Secours Hospital Galway and Lynette Frain, Immunology/Allergy CMN2 Galway University Hospital.
The keynote speaker was Mary Lynn, an accredited holistic psychotherapist who engaged the audience with an insightful presentation on the challenges and opportunities of midlife.
