Gynaecology is the medical practice dealing with the health of the female reproductive system.
The Gynaecology Department at the Bons Secours Hospital Galway provides a wide range of gynaecological services in our hospital in Galway for women of all ages.
Dr. O’Leary graduated from UCD with honours in 1998. He trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Dublin and Galway prior to undergoing a Fellowship in Gynae-Oncology in Australia and New Zealand in 2005 – 2007. He has a Diploma in Gynae-Oncology from the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is the leading colposcopist for CervicalCheck in Galway and has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery and women’s cancers.
He is a member of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist, a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a member of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. He is a member of the Executive of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and also sits on the interview committee for basic and higher specialist training for Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Ireland with the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. He is the national clinical advisor for women’s cancers to the National Cancer Control Programme.

Dr. Sidhu is a graduate of Queen’s University of Belfast, with Honours in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She obtained a Diploma in Advanced Ultrasound and was appointed a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in Mater Hospital Belfast in 1998. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.

Dr. Sidhu’s clinical remit includes General Gynaecology, Investigation & Treatment, Colposcopy, Advanced Hysteroscopy, Urogynaecology and Management of Menopause
A referral letter is required to be sent by either fax or post from your GP to the relevant consultant.
