The Chaplaincy/Pastoral Care department represents a very specific ministry and discipline.
Pastoral Care
Bon Secours Hospital Galway
Come to me, all you that are weary, and I will give your rest.(Mt 11:28)
Pastoral Care ministry is part of the hospital’s holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to the healing of the whole person. We see this care as an essential element in total patient care.
All our staff are aware of and seek to live the mission of the Bon Secours to care for the sick within a Catholic ethos, recognising the dignity and uniqueness of each person, seeking to provide quality, holistic care. In that spirit, the Pastoral Care team attends to spiritual, emotional and pastoral needs of the patients, their relatives and staff.
Members of the Pastoral Care team have been trained or are in training as Health Care Chaplains and accreditation by the Healthcare Chaplaincy Board of the Irish Episcopal Conference.
We respect the spiritual practices of all denominations and cultures. Specific religious needs of other denominations and faiths can be facilitated as required through the Pastoral Care department.
