GP Liaison/Hospital Relationship Executive
A nurse & midwife who has extensive project management and sales experience in the Medical community / pharmaceutical sector.
She worked at UCC/CUMH INFANT: Irish Centre for Fetal and Neonatal Translational Research Team as a Research Midwife with The DMAT study. Karina leads the Community First Response team in Ballygarvan.
The primary purpose of this role is to communicate The Bon Secours quality clinical services and streamlining referral processes. Karina will liaise between the Bon Secours Cork and the General Practitioners who currently refer patients to the hospital and to those to who are new to the referral process.

The Bon Secours Hospital Cork is an acute general hospital providing an extensive range of medical and surgical specialities for adults and children. These include:

We will soon develop radiotherapy services to complete our full range of cancer services. Consultants deliver all our services. They are supported by:

We cater for urgent admission from GPs in both medicine and surgery for adults and children.

Assessment of medical and urology patients can be arranged via the Medical Assessment Unit (Monday to Friday: 8.00am - 6.00pm excluding Bank Holidays)
Medical Assessment Unit
The Medical Assessment Unit provides patients with same day access to a General Medical Consultant following referral from their GP. The advantages for the patient are that they are seen quickly and any necessary tests are performed on the day. In most cases the patients are discharged on the same day with a treatment plan or alternatively they may be admitted to the hospital through the Rapid Access service for further investigation and treatment.
This is a Consultant led service with a supporting medical back-up team.
