The Living Well with Parkinson’s Exercise and Education programmes commenced in 2018 at the Bon Secours Hospital Cork and is specifically designed for people with Parkinson’s with an additional programme for Young Onset Parkinson’s. The goal of the programme is to improve your flexibility, balance and strength. Our education sessions will increase your knowledge to empower you to live well with Parkinson’s.
The programme is for ten sessions consisting of:
- An individual pre programme assessment with the Physiotherapist and Clinical Nurse Specialist including a questionnaire and simple walk test. This helps us to understand how you are at the moment.
- Eight two hour group sessions: an exercise class followed by an education session held in the Exercise Gym at the Bon Secours Hospital on a Thursday afternoon.
- An individual post programme assessment can highlight your improvements at the end of the course
