Sr Marie entered the Congregation of Sisters of Bon Secours of Paris in 1963. A State Registered Nurse, Sr Marie held various positions within the Bon Secours acute healthcare services from 1970 – 1984. She was awarded Diplomas in Catechetics, Theology, Counselling in addition to post-graduate Diplomas in Chaplaincy Studies and Pastoral Leadership.
Sr Marie served as Chaplain to Hospital Staff at Bon Secours Hospital, Cork for 6 years and as Mission Co-ordinator at Bon Secours Health System CLG from 2000-2009.
Sr Marie served on the Congregation Leadership Team for the Sisters of Bon Secours internationally and as Area Team Leader for Sisters of Bon Secours Ireland & GB until recently , having formally served on the Leadership Team of the Sisters of Bon Secours in Ireland from 1989-1992 and from 2000-2009.
Currently Sr Marie serves as a member of Bon Secours Mercy Ministries, the sponsor and governance entity of Bon Secours Health System CLG & Bon Secours Mercy Health, USA. From 2009 – June 2019 Sr Marie was Chairperson of Bon Secours Ireland, the sponsor entity for Bon Secours Health System.
